You can program it to record and log data by time or distance increments (i.e., every 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, 60 seconds or in similar distance increments). To retrieve the information, plug the unit into your computer via the included USB/charging cable. You can then download the information into a detailed printable report and view in Google Maps or Google Earth. The included EZ-Tour software is incredibly easy to use, and it can store all of your previous routes for you. Yes, you can store your routes into a file so you can pull them up and examine them later - great for evidence and private investigators! ....And, you can even click on the beginning of your route and press "Play" to let the EZ-Tour Software drive your route right before your eyes...with a small icon of course. But it really does drive your route, whether you walked, rode a bike, drove a car, or flew in a plane - it knows where you've been!
LED status lights illuminate when it is powered on, when it is tracking, and when the battery is low. Remember, it is bluetooth enabled so it doesn't even need to be physically connected to your computer to transfer the data back and forth.
